A little more on the saga of the squabble on the right of French politics. Perhaps it helps to explain the confusing situation.
Gathered at the headquarters of the Grand Orient of France, the Grand Masters of these obediences “launch a solemn appeal for the mobilization of all Freemasons, brothers and sisters” by affirming that “the extreme right is a dead end”.

This is a figure that comes at a bad time for the government before the anticipated legislative elections, as it seeks to defend its economic record in the face of very critical opposition.

Although the primary use of the park was as a makeshift public garden, it was also used for anti-war speeches and gatherings.
